Darci Burrell Speaks at Foundation for Advocacy, Inclusion & Resources and California Employment Lawyers Association 12th Annual Diversity Leadership Summit

On June 7, 2024 Burell Kagin law partner Darci Burell spoke at FAIR and CELA’s 12th Annual Diversity Leadership Summit held at UC Law San Francisco. She spoke on the first panel of the day on the topic “Diversity in the Profession: How Far We Have Come and Where Are We Going from Here.” She was joined on the panel by Fred Alvarez of Coblentz, Patch, Duffy, & Bass and Maricia Mitchell of the EEOC. The panel was moderated by Supreeta Sampath of the Sampath Law Firm. The three panelists spoke at the first Diversity Leadership Summit, twelve years ago, and reconvened over a decade later to discuss how diversity in the Bay Area legal profession has changed and how the sponsoring groups and individual attorneys continue to push for progress. The panel covered over a decade of change in the profession, including what practices have been impactful and what more should be done. Panelists also discussed their own experiences and how they become successful leaders in the field.
Law students from numerous local bay area law schools attended the Summit and had the chance to connect with experienced practitioners over lunch.
